| The solar moments – if we include
the suns, sunrises and sunsets – constantly appear in the
pictorial life of Lucatello during the Friuli period. After
the earthquake they return as an important exigency and testify
the artist’s new positive approach to life. The true and
proper solar moments occupy the whole of the rectangular or
square canvases and seem to want to examine every detail of
the light that creeps in and colours the earth. On the other
hand the suns are round and aggressive, crinkled by red–hot
matter, and go from orange to bright reds. The light that reveals
the secret energy of the matter can also dazzle the sun to the
point that it shatters into one sole trace, a trace which is
circular and pure: white on white. |
